Further to your request dated 9 February 2010. Please find below the information we are able to provide you by the due deadline of 9 March 2010.

The Council's purchase of software for the past financial year was undertaken by individual departments, which means that not all the information you have requested is readily available. However, we hope that the information provided will meet your requirements.

  1. Complete list of suppliers/contractors and consultants that have been used over the past year when procuring IT Software

The Council's main software provider for the past financial year was Trustmarque Ltd. However, individual departments may have purchased additional licences for products from other suppliers that they have contracted with individually. This information is not readily available and would require approximately[Author ID1: at Mon Mar 8 15:53:00 2010 ] [Author ID1: at Mon Mar 8 15:54:00 2010 ]10 days to obtain at a cost of approximately[Author ID1: at Mon Mar 8 15:54:00 2010 ] £1,800.00. This is because each of the 8 departments will need at least 1 working day to go through their own order books to identify orders placed and create a spreadsheet of data. These spreadsheets will then need to be collated and presented in a consistent format.

Under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, where the Council has exceeded the statutory cost limit to locate, retrieve and extract the information, currently £450: it is under no obligation to meet your request.

Notwithstanding this, in an attempt to be as helpful as possible, we are able to provide the following information to the balance of your questions.

  1. Total spend on IT Software during the past financial year

According to our financial ledger £882,115.80 was spent against the IT software purchase category for the financial year 2008/9.

  1. Break this Software spend down to show which department uses which application
