Dear Mr Greenwood

RSPCS and the Charity Commission

Thank you for your email of 8 February 2010 containing a request for information which falls to be responded to under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOI)

Please accept my sincere apologies for the fact that due to a misunderstanding, which has been the subject of separate correspondence, you have not received a reply before now and that our target date for response, as required under FOI, has been missed.

You specifically asked whether or not Dame Suzi Leather, as head of the Charity Commission, and Mr Lou Leather, Vice President of the RSPCA are related in any way and if so what that relationship is.

I can confirm that as far as Dame Suzi Leather is aware she is not connected in anyway to Mr Lou Leather.

If you are unhappy with our response to your FOI request, have a complaint or wish to request a review of our FOI decision, you should write to Charity Commission Direct, PO Box 1227, Liverpool, L69 3UG.

If after this you remain unhappy with the decision you may apply to the Information Commissioners (ICO) for a decision. Generally the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted our complaints procedure. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: The Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Walter Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

Yours sincerely

Sylvia Mayers
