Dear Mr Kemp
Thank you for your enquiry made under the Freedom of Information Act for information about the council's communications, marketing, advertising, promotions and public relations activity. I have provided responses to your questions below:
How many staff work in communications, marketing, advertising, promotions and public relations in your authority? For the avoidance of doubt this should include staff in a central department and directorates, plus any retained freelance workers.
There are 14 members of the communications team, which is a centralised function providing communications, marketing, advertising and PR support to the whole council. For the avoidance of doubt, this does not include any retained freelance workers; Warrington Council does not use freelance staff.
The structure of communications, marketing, advertising, promotions and public relations (i.e. structure chart/organogram with job roles)?
Please see attached structure chart.
The job title of the most senior staff member employed in communications, marketing, advertising, promotions and public relations?
As you can see from the attached structure chart, the most senior staff member in communications is the Head of Strategic Communications.
The age of the most senior staff member employed in communications, marketing and public relations?
The Head of Strategic Communications is 32.
The average age of staff members employed in communications, marketing, advertising, promotions and public relations?
The average age of staff members employed in the communications team is 35.
The proportion of staff members employed in communications, marketing, advertising, promotions and public relation holding a) journalistic qualifications, b) public relations qualifications and c) marketing qualifications?
a) Four staff hold journalism qualifications, representing 29%
b) Three staff hold public relations qualifications, representing 21%
c) Three staff hold marketing qualifications, also representing 21%
In addition, other members of staff have qualifications relevant to their job role, for example in graphic design. One member of the team has both PR and marketing qualifications.
I hope that this information answers your queries. If however you are not satisfied with my response to your request for information, you may ask the council for an internal review of this decision. You should write to Tim Date, Solicitor to the Council & Head of Corporate Governance at Warrington Borough Council, Quattro, Buttermarket Street, Warrington WA1 1BN, giving details of your complaint. You should do this as soon as possible, or, in any case, within two months of your request being answered.
If following the outcome of the internal review, you remain dissatisfied with the Council's response to your information request; you have the right under section 50 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to appeal to the Information Commissioner at:
