Q1. How many allotment sites are there for which South Ayrshire Council has access to waiting list data?

A1. There are 3 allotment sites for which South Ayrshire Council has access to waiting list data. These lists are managed by Council Officers

Q2. What is the total number of plots on these sites?

A2. The total number of plots on these sites (please note the plots are a mixture of full plots, half plots and quarter plots, with a full plot measuring 15m x 10m):

Craigie: 76

Alloway: 50

Troon: 95

Total: 221 plots

Q3. What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these sites?

A3. The number of people on waiting lists for these sites:

Craigie: 80

Alloway: 88

Troon 33

Total: 201

Q4. Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?

A4. Anyone residing in South Ayrshire can be added to the waiting lists.

Q5. How many new Council allotment sites were brought into use in 2009? Please give:

a) number of new sites

b) names of new sites

c) total area of new land in hectares

d) total number of new plots

A5. Total area of new land in hectares, brought into use in 2009: 1200m x 900m = 1080000m² = 108 hectares.

a) & b) One new site was opened in 2009 at Fullarton Woods in Troon.

c) The site at Troon totals 108 hectares.

d) The total number of plots is 95 (these are a variety of sizes).
