Freedom of Information Act 2000: 2008 Risk Registers

Further to our email exchange on 17 October 2008, Mr Karney has now asked me to provide you with the following:

As you will be aware, the Commission regards its current assessment of risks as confidential information. Consequently, when your request was originally considered in 2008, the Operational and Strategic Risk Registers were redacted prior to disclosure.

Disclosure of the COIN Project Risk Register was refused in its entirety as it related to a contractor engaged in the replacement of our complaints management system.

The Strategic Risk register is now two years old and no longer represent the Commission's current assessment of risk. Accordingly I am now able to forward copies of that register to you.

Additionally, I am also disclosing copies of the COIN Project Risk Register having discussed this matter with the contractor involved and agreed that the information would not prejudice commercial interests. I would reiterate that these documents do not constitute a current assessment of risk.
