Q. Could you please give me an update on the Beating the Blues

programme (a cCBT package recommended by NICE).

A. Redbridge PCT does not directly provide psychological therapy services. It commissions services from a number of providers. The commissioned service, providing steps 2 and 3 (as per NICE guidance), implemented Beating the Blues several years ago. Following evaluation, it was found that this CCBT package was not universally liked or followed by clients. Reasons for this included the fact this was not a home based package, clients commenced work with the package but did not follow up despite guidance and support, and the diverse nature of our population. Other packages have subsequently been utilised.

I also need to inform you that it is our policy to publish a summary of all requests for information made under the Freedom of Information Act and subsequent responses on our website on an annual basis.
