As to timing, usually a Proclamation for a BH is about 6 months or more in advance, bearing in mind that industry needs plenty of warning and certainty. In this instance and given the importance of the occasion I would expect it to be made at least a year in advance.

Very many thanks - this looks really good. One small amendment from me please. In the para about Scotland, can we replace “commemorate the Jubilee together” with “celebrate the Jubilee together”
We will be commemorating the Queen's reign but not the Jubilee as such!
….. - please can you double check the web pages and FAQs too for this too.

Please find attached the latest draft of the statement. It incorporates the changes you made before Christmas and some minor amends from the Secretary of State.
Please could you give this another check (and run by any other relevant DCMS contacts) and email me with any necessary changes as soon as possible. I can then forward to …. in our private office.
Let me know if anyone else needs to see this for approval, or if any references to Commonwealth need to be added.
Thank you for your help.

We spoke.
This is a draft of the Lord President's statement tomorrow on the Diamond Jubilee arrangements. …. did speak to me about this before Christmas and I said I would look at the draft.
In short, I think we should agree as drafted; are you content?
