Private Fostering Arrangements
Harrow council is commit ed to safeguarding children
and young people living in the borough. At times children
are unable to live with their birth parents for many
different reasons. A child who lives with a family friend, a
great aunt or cousin for more than 28 days is referred to
under the law as a Private fostering Arrangement.
Children under the age of 16 (18 if disabled) can be
privately fostered. If you know of a child that is living in
such an arrangement please inform us as soon as
possible. If in doubt, please contact the Duty and
Assessment Team on 020 8736 6942.
