Re: Freedom of Information request number 1578

Thank you for your request for the following information:

i) Who are the incumbent suppliers of the "basic connectivity" for your Wide Area Network Services? Are any contracts due for renewal in the next six months?

ii) How many sites on your network require high speed (greater than 1Gig) connections?

iii) Do you integrate (or manage) your own network or do you use a Systems Integrator or Outsourcing company for your network or ICT services? If so, please specify who and when the contract expires.

iv) How many Data Centres do you use and are they on council premises or third party premises? If third party please specify the company and when the contract expires.

v) Do you use "Co-location" Services ? If yes who is the supplier and when do the contracts need to be renewed?

The information below has been supplied in response to your request for the

above mentioned information. We hope the information supplied satisfies your original request.

i) Our Suppliers are Cable & Wireless, BT and Telewest, all of which are rolling contracts which are reviewed annually. This review has just been completed and will not be done again until next year.

ii) None of our sites require high speed connections.

iii) They are managed by us.

iv) We use one Data Centre and it is on Council premises.

v) No we do not use “Co-location” Services.

If you are unhappy with the Council's response you can make a complaint via the

Council's complaints procedures and this will be looked into. If you are not happy with

this decision you may then appeal to the Information Commissioner.
