Dear Mr Lister,
I am writing to provide a further response to your request of 12 January to the Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC) for information about Registers of Information and documents to be kept by local authorities.
I can confirm that Communities and Local Government does hold the information that you have requested and that we are able to provide you with some of that information.
A copy of the information that we are disclosing is provided in a word document attached to the email with this letter and consists of an extract from a BRAC Sustainable Buildings Information Update paper dated 2 October 2009 about the local authority Registers of Building Control information. The extract is the only part of this document that relates specifically to LA Registers of Building Control Information.
As mentioned in our email of 9 February all other papers that can be disclosed can be found in the BRAC papers which can be found on the Department's website at: http://www.communities.gov.uk/planningandbuilding/buildingregulations/buildingregulationsadvisory/
A copy of the BRAC Publications Scheme can also be found on the Department's website at: http://www.communities.gov.uk/planningandbuilding/buildingregulations/buildingregulationsadvisory/bracpublicationscheme/
Since the information is already available through the Communities website, in accordance with section 21(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 we are not obliged to provide it again separately to you in response to this request.
This information is subject to Crown Copyright. You are free to use it for your own purposes, including any non-commercial research or private study you are carrying out and for purposes of news reporting. If you intend other form of re-use, for example commercial publication, you would require the permission of the Office of Public Sector Information in respect of Crown Copyright material, in the form of a re-use license. This also explains your right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision in the event that you remain dissatisfied following the authority's review
