Target 19 - Increase Visits From Priority Groups:
DL suggested that the target of 20 outreach projects per year should be doubled to 40 and also increase the number of Heritage Open Days projects from 8.
ACTION: EH to amend these milestones.
Target 20 - support the rest of the sector to increase visits from priority groups:
There was a brief discussion about the difficulty of setting measurable targets for outreach and it was agreed that this target was a problematic one to quantify. The Taking Part survey is also problematic because it defines historic environment sites so broadly and therefore the range of what AHED can influence is small. EH's participation figures are based on surveys carried out at sites and the organisation monitors all visitors and all outreach work. HR commented that whilst Heritage Link and the voluntary sector are very keen, they cannot really deliver on this target for AHED.
