Waltham Forest News is the principal communications tool between the London Borough of Waltham Forest and its residents and businesses.
Waltham Forest News is a fortnightly newspaper that informs and engages everyone who lives and works in Waltham Forest, and enhances the reputation of the Council.

deliver high quality writing, imagery and design that engages readers
provide information about and encourage involvement in the activities of the Council, its partners and the wider community, within the framework of the Council's vision and objectives
use plain and jargon free language and be available in accessible formats on request
explain major local issues and the reasons for decisions, including national issues that have local impact
include features that address issues local people are flagging up through consultation and feedback
reflect and celebrate the borough's cultural and social diversity
promote local democracy including the work of councillors
encourage two-way communication through opportunities for feedback and competitions
set the record straight where necessary
work within the legal framework for local government publicity, and the Council's media protocol
The ratio of advertising to editorial will not exceed 50/50 in any single edition.
Subject to this rule, space will always be allocated for the Council's statutory notices and public notices.
Corporate Communications will draft or commission all articles and images. All sensitive or potentially controversial material will be cleared by the Head of Corporate Communications and the Head of Legal Services, or their nominees. The Leader of the Council and/or relevant Portfolio Member will be consulted, as appropriate.
Corporate Communications will manage all matters relating to production of the newspaper, including copywriting, photography, advertising, design, print and distribution, and the placement of articles on the Council's website.
