RE: FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT REQUEST

Thank you for your email dated 3^rd January 2010.

I have reviewed your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, and my response is as follows:

1. Name: Rossendale Alive

Frequency: 3 per year

Circulation: 32,000

2. The cost to produce Rossendale Alive :- 2008/09 £18,400 and 2009/10 £19,900

3. There is no advertising in the Rossendale Alive newssheet.

4. N/A

5. No advertising - public sector partners are invited to contribute articles free of

Charge.

6. Recruitment advertising does not form part of the newssheet.

7. Rossendale Borough Council has no written guidelines. All publicity must comply with the Code of Recommended Practice on Local Authority Publicity set out in the Local Government Act 1986 as amended. An editorial board comprising of 2 councillors and two council officers reviews content for each edition.

8. Rossendale Borough Council does not produce a guide as there is no advertising.

9. Rossendale Council does not have any full or part-time staff that work on the publication exclusively. It is estimated that two members of staff spend approximately 60 hours working on the publication. This equates to approximately £1250.00 per publication.
