Thank you for your request for information that was received on 3 January 2010 in which you requested:
As of January 2010, please could you tell me:
1) How many allotment sites are there in the council area for which
the Council has access to waiting list data?
Southwark council does not have direct access to waiting list data as all allotment sites are managed by individual societies and they are not required to provide the information to us.
However as a result of a survey carried out in 2009, Southwark was provided with waiting list numbers from these societies for 11 council owned allotment sites.This information is listed below.
2) What is the total number of plots on these sites? There are 264.
3) What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these
sites? 302
4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?
Not as far as the council is aware
5) How many new council allotment sites were brought into use in
2009? Please give:
a) number of new sites None
b) names of new sites None
c) total area of new land in hectares None
d) total number of new plots None
