Freedom of Information Act 2000 - Request for Information regarding Allotment Waiting Lists
Thank you for your email dated 03 January 2010 which we received on 04 January 2010.
You are entitled under section 1 (1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to know whether the Council holds the information requested and if so, to have that information communicated to you if no exceptions apply. I must point out that what you are entitled to is the information contained in a document, rather than a copy of that document, although very often the easiest way to provide the information may be to copy it.
If we believe that there is a good reason why any of the information should not be disclosed, we will let you know as much as we can about how we reached our decision.
The information that you requested was as follows:-
Dear Ryedale District Council,
As of January 2010, please could you tell me:
1) How many allotment sites are there in the council area for which
the Council has access to waiting list data?
2) What is the total number of plots on these sites?
3) What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these
sites?
4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?
5) How many new council allotment sites were brought into use in
2009? Please give:
a) number of new sites
b) names of new sites
c) total area of new land in hectares
d) total number of new plots
The response to your request is as follows:-
Q1) How many allotment sites are there in the council area for which

Q1) Reply: Ryedale District Council does not currently have any allotments and does not
have access to waiting list data accordingly we do not hold that information.
Q2) What is the total number of plots on these sites?
Q2) Reply: same as for question 1.
Q3) What is the total number of people on waiting lists for these
sites?
Q3 Reply: same as for question 1.
Q4) Are any of these waiting lists closed to further applications?
