I am writing to acknowledge your request for information dated 1st January 2010 which has been dealt with under the Freedom Of Information Act 2000 (FOI).

In response to your request regarding allotment sites for Northampton Borough Council (the Council). Please see detailed below the Council's response in point turn.
The Council manages the waiting list for 14 Allotment fields in Northampton
There are a total of 1543 plots on these 14 Allotment sites
As of today's date the Council has a waiting list of 347
The Council has not closed any of the waiting lists
The Council did not open any new Allotment sites in 2009. However, the Council did create approx 150 new plots out of previously derelict areas of existing sites.
