Schools are subject to periodic inspection by Ofsted, the National
Inspection body for schools. Part of the Ofsted remit is to assess the
way in which schools address community cohesion. Ofsted’s views are
reported publicly in the reports published on their website at

School inspection reports are monitored by School Improvement
Partners and there have been no reported concerns about the way in
which community cohesion or racism policies have been applied.
Q2
Many examples of good practice in schools are published through
national websites including the DCSF and it partners/agents. Havering
Council has not published any such examples. If individual schools in
Havering have such examples that have not been published an
information request would need to be made to them direct. Ofsted
inspection reports may help to identify externally judged good practice.
Havering schools are required to record and report upon racial
incidents.
