23 Accidents in Elm Grove

Matt Andrews made this Freedom of Information request to Sussex Police

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Sussex Police should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Sussex Police,

Recently a decision has been made to prosecute people parking on
the pavement in Elm Grove between the footpath and the road. One of
the stated reasons for this decision is that there have been 23
accidents in the road over the past three years.

I have asked the council for details of these accidents but it
seems they don't have this (despite having used this information in
their decision making process) and they have directed me to your
good selves.

If possible, please provide details of these 23 accidents,
specifically, whether or not any of these were due to cars being
parked on the paved area next to the footpath. If the incident is
related to parking, please give as much detail as possible.

I would prefer to receive this information electronically. If the
decision is made to withhold some of this data using exemptions in
the Act, please inform me of that fact and cite the exemptions
used.

If you need any clarification then please contact me on 07932
039771 or via email. Please contact me if you find this request
unmanageable in any way.

I look forward to hearing from you in the near future. Thank you
for your time.

Yours faithfully,

Matt Andrews
