Thank you for your email of 26 November regarding the above. Following internal
consultations we are able to reply to your enquiry as follows.
In Northern Anglian Area, we were involved in a project with UEA, which ran from 2003
until 2005 called Water4All. The project was funded by INTERREG IIIB North Sea Region
Programme. Its aim was to understand the effectiveness of land use measures in
reducing nitrate levels in a catchment area. The River Slea in Lincolnshire was used for
the pilot. The science project reference number is SC030126 so if this can be searched
for maybe more information can be found. The contact at UEA for this project was Dr
Kevin Hiscock, School of Environmental Sciences.
The follow up to Water4All was WaterCost (ran 2006-2007), which was funded by
INTERREG IIIB North West Europe Programme. The project aimed to assist in providing
WFD competent authorities with cost-effective and sustainable measures for the
management of groundwater quality.
In the financial year 2006/2007 we worked with Andrew Lovatt from the Environmental
Sciences Department on a Future of the Fens stakeholder event. Our contribution was
£6,000.
We also worked with the UEA on another European project called ComCoast I have
attached the breakdown of contributions on an excel spreadsheet. Further information of
