Dear Mr Jones
Further to your earlier requests for information regarding North Staffordshire Regeneration
Partnership Audits dated 11 January, 2010 : In Question
c) of your request of 11 January, 2010 you wrote: “Could I be provided with a copy of
the report following the revisit this month?”
I am writing to confirm that the Agency holds information relevant to your request and having
considered your request we are now able to release an executive summary of the KPMG report,
which is attached. We have redacted a small amount of information. Because of the restricted
scale of the third parties involved we believe that release of the redacted information could result in
the identification of specific individuals and would contravene the requirements of both Section 43
of the Freedom of Information Act (where disclosure of the information requested is likely to
prejudice the commercial interests of a third party supplying goods, services or information.) and
Section 40.2 of the Data Protection Act. (contravening Data Protection Principle 1 – the obligation to
process personal data fairly and lawfully.)
Please refer to the attached report for an executive summary of “The Procurement And Staff
Recruitment Follow Up Review – North Staffordshire Regeneration Partnership (NSRP)”
Please note the following statement in regard to the release of the executive summary
described above:
“These documents are not suitable to be relied on by any party wishing to acquire rights
against KPMG LLP for any purpose or in any context. Any party that obtains access to these
documents or copies and chooses to rely on these documents (or any part of them) does so
at its own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, KPMG LLP does not assume any responsibility and
will not accept any liability in respect of these documents to any party other than the original
addressee(s).”
If you have any queries about our response please contact me quoting the reference FOI10-0001.
Under the Freedom of Information Act you have the right of complaint. If you are not satisfied with
the way we have handled your request, or if you are unhappy with our response, you may appeal
