Freedom of Information – Response – 2105

Request:
Follow on from FOI 2073:
I have a similar request to IBC...in the building across the road.  They say
'commercial interests' are construed as being somewhat more than 'personal
interests'.
Anticipating a similar response from yourself I am just wondering what
wouldn't be an unrelated 'commercial interest' in Suffolk?

Response:
SCC does not use the term “commercial interests” in the context of
Councillors’ outside interests as SCC’s internal guidance is based on the
Standards for England Code of Conduct which uses the terms “personal and
prejudicial interests.” Guidance to Councillors on the disclosure of such
interests is contained in the Members Code of Conduct (part 9 of the
Constitution) and further guidance is given to Councillors in completing the
register of interests at    http://colin.suffolkcc.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/0D8A2B2D-
99CA-4FBE-A241-D768588418D9/0/RMI3.doc

The Register of Members’ Interests is available for public inspection at
Endeavour House during office hours and copies are also available at the
public libraries in Bury St Edmunds; Lowestoft; and Sudbury. In addition
Some Councillors have requested that their entry in the Register (including
any gifts and hospitality) should be published on the Council’s web site.
