FOI Request no: 2009-016375
2 December 2009

Dear Mr McGillivray

REQUEST FOR INFORMATION

Thank you for your request for information which we received on 25
November 2009.  Your request has been handled in accordance with the
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

The text of your request was as follows:

“Under freedom of information please can you state whether any members of
the Scottish Parliament have ever attended Bilderberg Group meetings and if
so their names.”

The Parliament does not hold any records on whether any MSPs, in their own
capacity, on behalf of their political party, or in the course of ministerial duties,
have attended meetings of the Bilderberg Group.

However we have checked whether any MSPs have attended meetings of the
Group in the role of Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body member,
Presiding Officer, or Scottish Parliamentary Committee member. These areas
do not hold any information on members attending Bilderberg Group meetings
in these roles. Therefore we conclude that we do not hold any information
pertaining to your request.

We would welcome feedback or comment on how we handled your request.
Please feel free to contact the FOI Specialist at The Scottish Parliament,
Edinburgh, EH99 1SP or by e-mail at [Scottish Parliament request email]

Please find below Annex A, which explains how we handle FOI requests and
