Request for information
In your email of 18 November, you say that there are differences in the number of staff employed by the Commission identified in a recent FOI request and the organisation charts available on our website. Given that the charts on our website don't include numbers of staff beyond posts where there is only one post holder, I'm not sure what you mean by this statement.
You asked for the number of staff employed in each function shown on our organisation charts for April 2008, April 2009, and October 2009. A table is attached. This shows all employed staff, including those on maternity leave.
You asked for information on staff not identified on the charts and what their role is for each of the above dates. These are as follows:
The York office employs two part-time cleaners.
In Corporate Services, there is a Legal Assistant as part of the Policy and Research team in April 2008 and April 2009, and then in October 2009 there are two.
From the summer 2009, we have staff working on special projects relating to the new areas of jurisdiction the LGO is taking on. So from May/June two Assistant Ombudsmen (one from Coventry and one from London) were seconded to work on these projects, and from July a Project Co-ordinator was appointed on a short-term contract.
All these staff are included in the numbers shown in the table below.
You asked about seconded investigators. In April 2008 there were three investigators seconded to the Communications Team - one from each office. That reduced to two by April 2009 (one from Coventry and one from York) and then to one in October 2009 (from Coventry).There was one investigator, from York, seconded to the Advice Team in April 2008. The organisation chart is incorrect to still show seconded investigators to the Advice Team and I will correct that.
