Dear Mr Sargeant
Request for Information
Your request was received on 21 April 2008 and I am dealing with under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
You asked:
Please could you provide a copy of the raw data that you made available to the Sutton Trust for their report into University Admissions by Individual Schools (http://www.suttontrust.com/reports/UniversityAdmissionsbySchool.pdf)
Secondly, please could you attach any correlations the University has calculated between undergraduate degree class and the secondary school qualifications of those undergraduates under the QCA or the UCAS points system, both in aggregate, and broken down by school type: comprehensive, independent, state selective etc.).
The raw data you requested is enclosed.
Regarding your second query, the University has not undertaken any correlations, therefore the information you requested is not held. The University, under the terms of the Act, is not required to create information in order to answer a request.
If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of this decision, you should write to the Administrative Secretary, quoting the reference above, at the Secretariat, The Old Schools, Cambridge, CB2 1TN. If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the Information Commissioner cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the University. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: The Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Yours sincerely
I. D Troupe
