Request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002
I refer to your enquiry of 9 November 2009 requesting that Glasgow City Council provides you with the undernoted information.
Please tell me how many of the following your local authority employed/employs during each of the years 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09 and 2009-10:
a) classroom assistants who help either specifically or as part of their generic role, to support children with additional needs individually or collectively, in their education;
b) specialist staff to support children in their education with additional needs individually or collectively, across all departments and budget heads;
c) other types of auxiliary/assistant/staff either specifically or as part of their generic role to support children with additional needs individually or collectively, in their education.
Classroom Assistants who supported children with Additional needs are called Pupil Support Assistants (ASL)
