1) Can you please provide me with all correspondence and communication between yourselves and Tyne and Wear Anti Fascist Association (TWAFA) from January 2006 to the present?

Please see emails attached. Please note that there may have been previous emails that are no longer held on the Council's system.

2) Can you provide me with TWAFA's annual accounts (which they need to submit before they are granted public funds) from January 2006 to the present?

The Council has not received any accounts from TWAFA since January 2006 to the present day. This information is not held.

3) Do you provide any funding to TWAFA? If so please provide details of your funding to TWAFA for the last three years.

North Tyneside Council does not provide any grant or funding to TWAFA.

You will note that the attached letter from TWAFA dated 12
th June 2007 refers to “continuation of the funding of £2,500.00…” however this letter was not addressed specifically to North Tyneside Council, and may have been sent to several authorities as a standard request, and it is confirmed that funding of £2,500.00 was not provided by the Council prior to that letter.

The Council's records indicate that The Crime and Disorder Reduction and Misuse of Drugs Partnership provided a payment of £1,300 to TWAFA in March 2008 for consultation and training carried out relating to racist graffiti and stickering and the impact of hate crime on community cohesion.

The Crime and Disorder Reduction and Misuse of Drugs Partnerships is a statutory body comprising five `responsible authorities':

These responsible authorities have a statutory duty to work with other local agencies and organisations to develop and implement strategies to tackle crime and disorder, including anti-social and other behaviour adversely affecting the local environment, as well as the misuse of drugs (s6, Crime and Disorder Act 1998 as amended by s97 & s98 Police Reform Act 2002 and s1, Clean Neighbourhoods & Environment Act 2005).

This money was paid to TWAFA via North Tyneside Council as one of the responsible authorities under the Partnership, but it was not North Tyneside Council's money.

4) Do you provide any services to TWAFA? If so please provide details of the services provided to TWAFA for the last three years

The Council does not provide services to TWAFA.
