(a) Local settlements were agreed with the Ombudsman's office as follows: 2005/06 compensation of £918 in one case; 2006/07 compensation of £50 in one case; 2007/08 compensation of £250 plus payment of valuation fee and reasonable legal fees in one case. All recommendations of the Ombudsman were met in full.

(c) The cost of any compensation payable was met directly by the Council.

(c) Please additionally provide any documentation maintained by your Local Authority's Head of Paid Service identifying that they personally do not believe it to be appropriate for your Council to have a complaints system that is fit for purpose. This documentation should be in existence due to the provisions of s4 of the Local Government Act 1989. |
