Thank you for your email dated 9 November 2009 which requested information on how much the FCO spent or disbursed on grants, projects or events in 2006-07 and 2007-08 for the following communities: Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Jewish, Buddhist, Jain, Humanist, Zoroastrian and Baha'i.

Following a search of our records I am writing to confirm that we hold information relevant to your request.*

The FCO does not issue grants on a faith basis, nor does it run projects for specific faith communities. However, we talk regularly to faith and belief groups in regard to such common objectives as preventing and resolving conflict, respect for human rights and promotion of a low carbon high growth global economy.

If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision, you should write to me.  You have 40 working days to do so from the date of our response.
