FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST - ACCESS TO BNP WEBSITE

Thank you for your request dated 29 October 2009 for information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. I also refer to correspondence dated 27 November from this office apologising for being unable to reply by the deadline. You asked how many times the website of the British National Party (BNP) was accessed by Scottish Government staff during July, August and September 2009 and, for the same period, the length of time spent accessing the BNP site.

During the period you requested the BNP website was accessed 13 times by 8 individuals for a total of 8 minutes and 39 seconds.

If you are unhappy with this response to your request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review, by writing to Ms Stella Manzie, Director General, Finance and Corporate Services, Scottish Government, Area 3-D93, Victoria Quay, Edinburgh EH6 6QQ quoting the reference number above. Your request should explain why you wish a review to be carried out, and should be made within 40 working days of receipt of this letter, and we will reply within 20 working days of receipt. If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to make a formal complaint to the Scottish Information Commissioner.
