Dear Mark

Thank you for your request for the information detailed in your email of 4 October 2008.

In response to question 1, please find attached a list of all programmes run by the National School of Government at Sunningdale Park in 2007. The list details the name of the course or programme students were enrolled on and the name of the organisation students were from.

In four instances, an assortment of programmes were booked by named individuals on their own behalf rather than via a particular organisation (rows 981, 2493, 5420 to 5427 and 6473 to 6474).

I have deleted the names of these four individuals in accordance with the exemption set out at Section 40 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ('personal information'). The National School is of the view that information identifying those who have attended its courses and programmes constitutes personal data as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998.

In response to questions 2 and 3, the National School does not use a specific software package to manage freedom of information requests.

If you have any questions relating to this email, please don't hesitate to contact me.

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision you should write to:

Dear Christopher Mallett,

Thank you for the report. There is a problem though. The report
excludes the enrollment numbers (i.e., a count of the number of
students enrolled in each of the programs)

To clarify what I was requesting here are some instructions that
get at what I was expecting:
In the excel sheet you sent me, sort the report by column B. Add a
label to column C ("Number of Student Registered"). This column
would be filled with the numbers so that each row represented the
number of students (column C) from particular departments (column
A) who registered in a particular program (column B). This would
result in a table like this:

[Department X][Programme 1][5]

[Department Y][Programme 1][2]

[Department Z][Programme 1][6]

[Department X][Programme 2][2]

[Department Q][Programme 2][8]
...

Yours sincerely,

Mark

Dear Mark

Thanks for your email. I've asked our IT department to reformat the list along the lines suggested, highlighting the number of students registered on each NSG programme.

Hope this is OK.
