Dear FOI Responses,

Thank you for your reply. It is now very very clear that the
government does NOT want to answer for it's involvement in this
disgraceful episode.

Vexatious request AGAIN. Have you ever thought that if you actually
answered one of these requests honestly that the rest would stop?

Vexatious my rear end. This is purely and simply the governments
embarrassment at getting caught giving a nod and a wink to
something they knew was dubious from the start, and its attempts to
cover its own rear end when the faeces hit the fan.

This is a mockery of the ideals of the Freedom of Information Act.
Either the government knew that Russian sourced interception
equipment was placed in the centre of the national communication
infrastructure, and was complicit. Or, BT and Phorm pulled the wool
over officials and Ministers eyes,in which case it is incompetence
of the highest order. It is one of the two scenarios and I cannot
make my mind up which is worse.

Yours sincerely,

Phillip Main

The government have found a new word. This word is VEXATIOUS. In a deliberate and weasely way they are using a get out of jail free clause in the Freedom of Information Act to avoid answering embarrassing questions about their own involvement in this scandal. While they were looking up the word Vexatious it is a pity they did not also look up the words, openness, honesty, and truthfulness.

As of today 4th September 2010, it is now 690 days since the CPS started their investigations into BT and Phorm and as yet there as been no action taken.
