Thank you for your email of 22nd February 2008 in which you requested a copy of the Representation of the People Act 1867 and requested the Act in electronic form.
I can confirm that the Department holds this information. This information is exempt under section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act (Information accessible to the applicant by other means). This is an absolute exemption and there is therefore no requirement to consider the public interest.
The information is reasonably accessible to you and in the public domain because you can obtain copies from the Office of Public Sector Information (previously HMSO) from their website www.opsi.gov.uk. It is also reasonably accessible because it is available to view as originally enacted in statute books more details of which are provided below.
