Dear Sir or Madam,
Me and my husband sent in an application EEA2 almost a year ago!!!
still, nobody gives any answer about progress and how much longer
to wait! As per then and now current waiting times stating "up to 6
months"... We've sent a fax to "LNP Charlie 3"caseworker team in
Liverpool with request to speed up process, and still same story-no
any response.
I know that many similar cases been resolved in 3-4 months time, so
I don't believe that 1 year is normal time!!!!
More over My husband's(for whom this application is) passport is
WITH US!!!! Why would you send it if we didn't requested it?(
I(wife-European) asked for return of my passport ONLY)
So outline is- WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH OUR CASE? HOW MUCH LONGER?
WHEN YOU WILL REQUEST PASSPORTS BACK?
DETAILS OF APPLICATION IF HELPS ARE: Puneet Sharma. Indian(
16.02.1984) rec.delivery ref: RE 2529 6897 4GB.
Yours faithfully,
Marina M

Dear Marina,
Thank you for your below enquiry.
However, this is a progress enquiry, not an FOI request, as you are
asking about the status of your application. In addition, any
information would subsequently be published on the website and so it is
not appropriate for enquiries of a personal nature to be handle under
the Freedom of Information Act. Therefore, we will not be conducting an
internal review as you have requested.
Information is available on the UKBA website should you wish to make an
enquiry regarding your application and the details can be found under
Contact; alternatively you can make a compliant about the handling of
your EEA 2 application again details can be found on the UKBA website.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Feakins,

Dear Freedom Of Information Team ( IND ),
Thank you for your reply, but it's not exactly the kind of answer
I've expected from you. I would like to leave personal details
aside, for now and clarify these few points:
What is current processing time for EEA2 applications?
Why am I been given new timing every time I call public enquiries?
Who actually knows something about application, as the staff I get
to talk over the phone seems never have ANY information?
How do you deal with backlog?
Isn't it your duty to inform applicants about changes in processing
times, and actually send some info in writing?
Do you care about your customers and what complications and
problems you causing by delaying the process???
Yours sincerely,
marina m

It's unlikely that the UKBA will respond to a specific application request due to items such as data protection and the fact that the request is outside of scope of the FOI act. However, if you haven't already, I would suggest you escalate to the EU Solvit network http://ec.europa.eu/solvit/
