Stuart Hardwicke CARRUTHERS made this Freedom of Information request to Hackney Borough Council

The request was partially successful.

From: Stuart Hardwicke CARRUTHERS

13 October 2008

Dear Sir or Madam,

Could you clarify who was the Head of Paid Service at Hackney
and/or CEO or equivalent when complaint 87/A/0070 failed to secure
what the Local Government Ombudsman at the time identified as being
a suitable remedy.

A first report was issued on 18 August 1988. A second report was
issued on 03 July 1989. The LGO closed the case on 24 October 1989.

Copies of any documentation maintained by the Council related to
this complaint would be appreciated

Yours faithfully,

Stuart Hardwicke CARRUTHERS

Jerry WHITE is now an Local Government Ombudsman {'LGO'] and whilst at HACKNEY it would appear refused to ensure that an remedy was provided as identified by the LGO. It is unlikely that as he did not view the Council's acts as being maladministration that he now identifies other Council's acting in the same way that he did in 1989 as being maladministration.
