FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST  
 
I acknowledge your request for information received on 08 October 2009.  
 
You requested the following information: 
 
In relation to all school staff (including teachers): 

 
1. Has your authority ever found a member of the BNP or any other political 
Party guilty of a disciplinary offence related to their Party membership in the 
last three years? If so please give information as to when and how many. 
 
2. Has any parent complained to you regarding the Party membership of any 
school employee or the expression of political views within School classrooms 
under your authority during the last three years? 
 
3. What safeguards do you currently have in place to prevent members of any 
political Party promoting their views within Schools? 
 
Your request is being considered and you will receive a full response to your request, 
within the statutory timescale of 20 working days (from the day after the request is 
received) as defined by the Freedom of Information Act 2000.   
 
We would normally provide the information in paper copy, normal font size. If you 
require alternative formats, e.g. language, audio, large print, etc. then please let me 
know. 
 
For your information, the Act defines a number of exemptions which may prevent 
release of the information you have requested. There will be an assessment and if 
any of the exemption categories apply then it will be withheld.  We will inform you if 
this is the case. 
 
If the information you request contains reference to a third party then we may consult 
them before we decide to release the information to you.
