FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST  
 
I acknowledge your request for information received 08 October 2009. 
 
Unfortunately we are unable to gather the information that you have requested 
because we are unclear about what information you would like. Section 1(3) of the 
Freedom of Information Act 2000 states that where a public authority reasonably 
requires further information in order to identify and locate the information requested 
the authority is not obliged to comply with the request unless it is supplied with that 
further information. 
 
Please answer the question below in regards to your request. Once we have 
received this information we will send a full response to your request, within the 
statutory timescale of 20 working days (from the day after the clarification is 
received) as defined by the Freedom of Information Act 2000. 
 
You requested the following information: 
 
1. Has your authority ever found a member of the BNP or any other political 
Party guilty of a disciplinary offence related to their Party membership in the 
last three years? If so please give information as to when and how many. 
 
2. Has any parent complained to you regarding the Party membership of any 
employee or the expression of political views within School classrooms under 
your authority during the last three years? 
 
3. What safeguards do you currently have in place to prevent members of any 
political Party promoting their views within Schools? 
 
Please can you let us know whether you would like this information in relation to:  
1.  teachers only  
2.  all school staff (including teachers) 
3.  all local authority staff (including both of the above)
