CategoryNumber of EHE ChildrenActual/Estimate (A or E)
Number not receiving any education3E - this is very difficult to determine. Based on the current definition of a 'suitable education' given within the guidance for local authorities, all but 3 children currently registered would appear to be in receipt of some form of education. Even the 3 quoted may be in receipt of education but this cannot be determined as parents are determined not to cooperate with the local authority.
Number receiving some education but not a full time educationUnknown E - difficult to determine. Under current guidelines the "measurement of 'contact time' is not relevant to elective home education" and, "home educating parents are not required to…..have a timetable…..set hours during which education will take place".
Number receiving a full time but not 'suitable' education51A - these children are in receipt of some education but parents recognise that it is judged to be unsuitable and are cooperating with support given by the EHE Adviser to improve.
Number not cooperating with monitoring so no assessment can be made3A - (as in 'Number not receiving any education' above.
