Dear Mr Nottle,
I am writing with reference to your request for information regarding ISIS
Identification Service Business Case, dated 02ND Oct 2009, made under section 1(1)
of the Freedom of Information Act.
You asked for the following information:
“In the ISIS Implementation and development programme for 2009-10, which is
published on your website, page 10 paragraph 20 refers to 'a strategic description
of the operational requirements, for consideration by the BDA by the end of
September 2009'.
Has this now been concluded? If not, when do you envisage it being completed? If
it is complete, will it be published?
I would be most interested to read a copy of this and would be grateful if you could
provide a copy, should it be complete.”
The business case referred to in the ISIS Implementation and Development
Program 2009/10 (page 9-10; paragraphs 19-20) has not been completed or
submitted to the Business Design Authority (BDA). The costed business case for
the Digital Evidence Platform also detailed in the report (paragraphs 24-26) has
taken priority and was presented to the BDA in September 2009 instead. The
Identification Service business case, which is designed to deliver a more efficient
means to search existing databases and systems, is now planned to be presented
to the BDA for consideration in December 2009.

We are unaware of any plans to publish the information at this stage; this would be
a decision for the BDA to take once they have had sight of the paper.
