FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT REQUEST NO 752/2009-2685

I would be interested to know how many speeding tickets were issued and how many speeding offences occurred on the stretch of the A379 between the Matford roundabout and the Devon Motel Roundabout. I would like this information for 2004 -2009.

The Central Ticket Unit has provided the following information:

Devon & Cornwall Constabulary have identified a total of six endorsable fixed penalty notices (FPNs) issued for speeding at the locations and between the dates stated in the request. These tickets were issued between 06/09/2007 and 23/06/2009.

The search was carried out by looking for FPNs that had the 'location of offence' entered as `Matford' or `Devon Motel'. Therefore, the figure given above cannot be considered conclusive as this search relies on the issuing Officer noting down the location at which the FPN was issued, which, it should be noted, does not always get recorded precisely, i.e., a vehicle travelling between Matford and the Devon Hotel maybe recorded simply as A379 Exeter.
