The procedure to employ Commissioning Editors in the web team follows standard TDA practice for recruiting temporary workers. Recruitment agencies are issued with a job description and person specification to source appropriately qualified and skilled candidates. CV's are provided to the TDA and used for short listing. Short listed candidates are invited for interview and considered on the relative merits of the candidate against the job and/or person specification for the position. The successful candidate is offered a temporary assignment via the recruitment agency.
The TDA uses a number of agencies to recruit specialist communications roles. Currently the TDA has temporary workers employed by Recruit Media, Hays Information Technology, Reed, and XchangeTeam.

Under the TDA's Code of Conduct Board members and Audit Committee members are required to sign the register of interests, as outlined in our annual report. Permanent members of TDA staff are not permitted to hold any office or position that might conflict with their duties as a member of the TDA. They must obtain permission from their line manager and the Human Resources (HR) department before taking on either a paid or unpaid position that has the potential to result in a conflict of interest. They must also inform their line manager and the HR department about the private interests of their spouse, partner, close family or people living in the same house. The web team consists of both temporary and permanent members of staff. Temporary members of staff are not employed by the TDA. Their terms of employment are a matter for the individual and his or her employer.
The TDA currently uses Recruit Media, Hays Information Technology, Xchange Team and Reed to engage the services of the temporary workers within the web team. Contracts of employment are between the recruitment agency and the temporary worker.
Temporary workers at the TDA may be recruited on a daily rate or per hour. The TDA operates a standard 36 hour week but on occasion, temporary workers may work overtime according to business need. This is usually charged at the standard hourly rate. Current rates charged by the recruitment agencies are between £225 and £340 per day (rounded to the nearest £5). This does not reflect the actual amounts received by individuals. This is a matter for the agencies and their staff.
