FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST

I refer to your e-mail dated 7^th November 2009, in which you state that Cumbria Constabulary are `breaking the law' by not responding to your request by the 23^rd October 2009. The below request was received on the 28^th September 2009, and acknowledged the same day.

How many individuals have reported treason and sedition reports of crime, Edward Heath Government onwards, to Cumbria Constabulary?

On the 9^th October 2009 we asked you to clarify your name, under Section 8 of the Freedom of Information legislation, and until you supplied that clarification, your request was not considered to be a valid one, so the clock had not started. We received your request for an internal review of this decision on the 12^th October 2009, and responded upholding our original decision to request clarification of your name on the 21^st October 2009. We then received your email of the 22^nd October 2009 providing the requested clarification, and the `clock' was started. Following receipt of this clarification, we provided you with information relating to your request on the 6^th November 2009.

Therefore, with relation to this request, and counting from the date of receipt of your name(22^nd October 09) to the date of our response(6^th November 09), Cumbria Constabulary complied with the legislative requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, responding to your request within 11 days.

Complaint Rights

If you remain dissatisfied with how your request has been handled you have a further right of complaint to the Information Commissioner. I have provided the contact details for the Commissioner overleaf, for your information, in case you wish to pursue this course of action.
