Dear Mr Tweedy, |
|
Freedom of Information Act 2000: Request for information
Thank you for your request for information that was logged on 25th of September 2009 relating to FOI/4423. You have requested the following information:
From previous FOI requests, you have confirmed that there are no plans to introduce security devices in charged motorcycle parking bays.
Please answer the following:
Why has your website
(http://www.westminster.gov.uk/services/transportandstreets/parking/wheretopark/vehicletype/motorcycle/motorcyclesecuritydevicetrial/) not been updated to reflect this as it states `'We are committed to rolling out further security for motorcycles across the borough'' when you have confirmed that this is in fact inaccurate/wrong/misleading/a lie?
Why has Cllr Chalkley and the Westminster City Council parking dept lied about the introduction of security devices for motorcycles, as this was an argument used for the introduction of the motorcycle tax, to gain support for it?
In response to your request, I can advise you that the Council has not updated the website because the plans to introduce further security devices remain ongoing, as per the Cabinet Member Reports dated 12th of May and 1st of October 2009. In September 2009, 200 new devices have been purchased. Please refer to the Cabinet Member Report dated 1st of October 2009, via the following link for further information -
