Dear Sir/Madam,
Reference No: F-2009-01456
FREEDOM of INFORMATION ACT 2000
Thank you for your request for Information, received at this office on 21 September, 2009, in which you requested details of the following:
I was interested in a recent article in the Lincolnshire Echo (http://www.bit.ly/baRYp) concerning your force's change of uniform.
I would like more information about the change of uniform by your force. However, I am unsure as to what documentation you may hold.
Pursuant to Section 10 of FOI Code of Practice:
"providing an outline of the different kinds of information which might meet the terms of the request;
providing access to detailed catalogues and indexes, where these are available, to help the applicant ascertain the nature and extent of the information held by the authority"
Would you please be kind enough to provide me a 'detailed catalogue' of materials held that you feel is relevant to the change of uniform.
I would imagine this catalogue would include by not limited to:
*Reports of field tests of new police uniforms * Specification of uniform/design brief etc. * Results of questionnaires given to police officers concerning new/old uniforms. * Quotes received from suppliers concerning supply of new uniforms * Decisions making process involved in changing uniforms (managerial meeting minutes, public feedback)
Your request will now be considered and you will receive a response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject to the information not being exempt or containing a reference to a third party. In some circumstances Lincolnshire Police may be unable to achieve this deadline. If this is likely you will be informed and given a revised time-scale at the earliest opportunity.
There may be a fee payable for the retrieval, collation and provision of the information you request. If this is the case you will be informed and the 20 working day timescale will be suspended until we receive payment from you. If you chose not to make a payment then your request will remain unanswered.
Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to another public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.
We anticipate being able to provide you with information that you have requested by 19 October, 2009.
Your attention is drawn to the attached sheet, which details your right of complaint.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in Lincolnshire Police.
Should you need to discuss this further please write or contact me on the above telephone number quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely,
Colin Knowles
Force Data Protection Officer
