Dear

Preventing Violent Extremism Programme

The Preventing Violent Extremism agenda is both emotive and sensitive. Whilst it is important to respect the views and sensitivities of individuals, it is equally important to ensure that funding is only received by individuals and groups whose aims and objectives are consistent with the Prevent agenda.

As you will be involved in delivering a project which has received PVE funding, I hope you will understand that due to the sensitivities involved it is vitally important that persons associated with the projects are checked against police databases with their consent.

If you are in agreement please complete the pro forma and return it to me at the address below. Please read the attached Privacy Notice. To maintain compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998, the information you provide will only be retained for as long as necessary in keeping with the purpose for which it was made - in this case the life of the project. A refusal to agree does not automatically infer that funding will not be provided.

Yours sincerely

Paul Marriott

PVE Programme Manager
