Dear Dr Bevan

Request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002

Thank you for your email received on 18 September 2009 requesting that the following information be provided to you:

“I see from the recent press release [1] about free golf for under 18s that:

"In order to play on the course, young people will be required to book in advance and have a valid Kidz Card or Young Scot Card".

Can you please confirm for me that this is indeed the policy; that council officials would not accept alternative documents or evidence as proof of age?

Looking at the application form for a Glasgow Young Scot Card, I see that children are required to explicitly opt out if they object to data sharing and the associated activation of a Citizen's Account, rather than being required to opt in if they do consent to data sharing.

I should be grateful if you could provide me with a copy of the Privacy Impact Assessment associated with the Glasgow Young Scot Card and its application form, and any other documents pertaining to the decision to require an opt-out rather than an opt-in.”

The Council is treating your request as a request under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002.

On inspecting our records, it would appear that Glasgow City Council does not hold the information which you have requested. Neither does anyone else hold it on our behalf. Accordingly we are unable to comply with your request.
