Dear Ellen,

Request for information

Thank you for your recent request for information as detailed below which we are handling under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

1. What is the total number of dentists in your area who have a contract with the PCT to provide NHS services? How many practices is this?

Answer: 40 Dentists and 28 Dental practices

2. Please can I have details of the gross income (for the last financial year 07/08) of each of the practices within your PCT that provide NHS services?

We do not hold this information. Please contact individual dental practices, the details of which can be found on our website at the following link:

http://www.towerhamlets.nhs.uk/getting-help/dentists/

We do however have one directly managed dental practice which has a budget of approximately £500,000.

3. Please also provide the amount claimed in expenses for each practice according to their self-assessment tax forms for the last financial year 07/08.

Again we do not hold this information. Please contact individual dental practices.

4. Please provide details of how many dentists are employed per practice.
