Our Response:

1. What is the total number of dentists in your area who have a contract with the PCT to provide NHS services? How many practices is this?

Ans: NHS Haringey has 50 dental providers and 50 dental practices

2. Please can I have details of the gross income (for the last financial year 07/08) of each of the practices within your PCT that provide NHS services?

Ans:  This information can not be provided as it is case sensitive and therefore is exempt information under Section 43 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (Commercial Interests).

However, the total of contract values for all practices for the financial year 07/08 was £13,306,175.00

3. Please also provide the amount claimed in expenses for each practice according to their self-assessment tax forms for the last financial year 07/08 

Ans:  This information can not be provided as it is case sensitive and therefore is exempt information under Section 43 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (Commercial Interests).

4. Please provide details of how many dentists are employed per practice.

Ans: Total number of dentists currently on the PCT's performers list is 142. Thus there are 2.84 dentists employed per practice

 5. Can you also provide the same detail (including gross income and expenses) per practice for the year 04/05 - the year before the new NHS contract was introduced to improve access to dental services?

Ans: This information can not be provided as it is case sensitive and therefore is exempt information under Section 43 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (Commercial Interests).

However, the total of baseline contract values for all practices for the financial year 04/05 was £12,847,669.43 

6.  If available, please can I also have the total number of "units" of dental activity and treatment carried out per practice in the last financial year 07/08.

Ans: The total number of contracted UDAs for NHS Haringey for 07/08 was 449,616. Thus the number of contracted UDAs per practice accounts to 8992.32 UDAs per practice. The information regarding individual practice is exempt under Section 43 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
