Internal review time complaint
Dear Mr Addison
I am writing in response to your request of the 5th November 2009 for an internal review into the handling of the information request that you sent by e-mail on the 15th September 2009 regarding the status of the common law and statute law within the English legal system.
I have completed my review and I am now in a position to provide a substantive response to your request.
The response as you know was sent to you on the 19th November 2009 and it is on the whatdotheyknow.com website.
I have thoroughly reviewed the reasons for the delay, and at the outset I must apologise for the way in which your case was handled on this occasion. The request was not sent out previously due to an oversight by the Department for which I apologise.
I would like to assure you that we are making every effort to manage all responses in a fair and sensible manner in the future.
If you have any queries concerning this review please do not hesitate to contact me on the contact details above.
I trust this answer your complaint on the length of time that it took to respond but if you are not satisfied with this response you have further right of complaint to the information commissioner, who can be contacted at the following address:

Wycliffe House
