Dear Mr Graham

Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2000: Request for information

Thank you for your request for information, relating to FOI/4372/ABD. You have requested the following information:

Please provide a list of all car parks in your borough.

For each of the above car parks please indicate which ones are run by WCC.

Please advise if there are any plans are in place to transfer/sell/auction off the running of the car parks to another party.

Please confirm if motorcycle parking is free and will remain free in WCC run car parks.

Please confirm if motorcycle parking is free and will remain free in car parks not run by WCC.

Please confirm if the subject of free motorcycle parking has been part of any discussions to transfer the running of car parks - this should include those already transferred and also those where there are plans to transfer the running.

In response to your request I can advise you of the following:

There are twelve City Council car parks.

The City Council does not hold a comprehensive list of private car parks outwith the City Council's control.

The following is a list of the City Council's remaining twelve Car Parks. The Leicester Square and Chiltern Street car parks are now under private ownership.

Park Lane / Marble Arch (one car park, two entrances)

There are currently no plans to transfer/sell/auction off any of the remaining twelve car parks listed above. However, the City Council retains the right to review the position of these twelve car parks in the future.

All dedicated motorcycle parking spaces in our off-street car parksĀ are free of charge.

There are no current plans to charge for motorcycle parking in dedicated motorcycle parking spaces. However, the City Council retains the right to review parking revenue strategies in the future.

The City Council has no information with regard to financial decisions made by the operators of private car parks in Westminster.

The City Council has held no discussions with operators of private car parks on financial decisions made by those operators.

If you are not satisfied with this response please set out your reasons in writing and send to:
