FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST

I write in connection with your request for information dated 11 September 2009, which was received by Cumbria Constabulary on that day. I note you seek access to the following information:

  1. How many policemen and women, employed by Cumbria Constabulary, have graduated from Common Purpose or taken part in courses?

  2. How much has been spent on such training since 2005, to date?

  3. Is the Area Commander a Common Purpose Graduate, or has he taken part in Common Purpose training and courses, and how much was spent on such courses in the last twelve months?

Your request has now been considered and I can advise the following:

  1. Cumbria Constabulary currently has three serving officers who have attended Common Purpose courses.

  2. £9011.25 including VAT.

  3. None of the Area Commanders are a Common Purpose graduate.
